TechWays (“we,” “us,” or “our”) respects the privacy of our users (“you” or “your”). This Privacy and Data Policy (“Policy”) describes the types of information we collect from and about users who access our e-learning platform (“Platform”), how we use that information, and the choices you have associated with your data.

We are committed to complying with the Protection of Personal Information Act 4 of 2013 (“POPIA”).  This Policy should be read together with our Terms and Conditions.

We collect two types of information from and about users:

  • Personal Information:  This is information that can be used to identify you as an individual, such as your name, email address, school name and grade level (if provided by your school). When you register for our Platform through your school, we will collect the information your school provides us.
  • Non-Personal Information:  This is information that cannot be used to identify you as an individual, such as your device type, browser type, IP address, browsing history on our Platform, and learning progress data.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to:

  • Provide, operate, and maintain our Platform
  • Deliver and personalize your learning experience
  • Send you important information about our Platform, including changes to our terms, conditions, and policies
  • Communicate with you about your account and respond to your inquiries
  • Analyze trends and user behavior to improve our Platform
  • Comply with legal and regulatory requirements

4. Sharing Your Information

We will not share your Personal Information with third parties for their marketing purposes without your consent. We may share your information with third-party service providers who help us operate and maintain our Platform, such as data storage providers and analytics providers. These third-party service providers are obligated to protect your information and comply with applicable data protection laws.

We may also disclose your information if we are required to do so by law or in the good faith belief that such disclosure is necessary to:

8. Children's Privacy

Our Platform is not directed to children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect Personal Information from children under 13. If you are a parent or guardian and you learn that your child has provided us with Personal Information, please contact us.

We may update this Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Policy on our Platform.
